The Royal Oak is a warm and welcoming local pub that has over the years tried to maintain its character as such. The pub is around three hundred years old, and over these years has been used for many different purposes. But for the last four years Sue and the team have been making locals and strangers alike feel welcome in the royal oak. We have recently undergone extensive refurbishment work so that we can make the pub even more comfortable for our customers. We have also extended our kitchen so that we can offer you a larger range of dishes produced to the highest standards.

If you are looking for good food or just good company and a couple of drinks we are the place to visit. We have an extensive menu, that you can view samples of in the menu section of this site. We also offer a range of draught lagers and ales along with a new wine menu for you to choose from.

As we are sure that you are already aware, the government is introducing a ban on smoking in public place this summer. We have decided not to wait for the ban to come in into effect, and we have banned smoking in the pub from the 16th March 2007. This is for the comfort of everyone, and we hope it doesn't cause any inconvenience to any of our customers. We do however have a new all weather outdoor smoking area for our customers who do smoke.
